"Although I have only worked with the LOTL Society in Kelowna a short time, I can see the similar thread continuing that I recognized in other candidate organizations...the candidates join our program which runs for six months.
They are shy, timid, not too sure of their role in life...after six months they transform into strong, confident, reassured young woman....ready to share their experiences with other communities....a total beacon for Kelowna!
Truth is I have always worked with the Youth of my community...these are truly our assets,
Truth is I have always worked with the Youth of my community...these are truly our assets,
If you are not happy with what you see in our Youth of today, get involved...start creating our Future!"
Linda Swanson – Chair Lady of the Lake Society
"The Lady of the Lake Program helps young woman to build self-confidence, help with public speaking, and allows the youth to be involved with the community in many different ways. Well on my journey of being Miss Kelowna I have had an opportunity to travel our sister city, Kasugai. I also travel to other communities promoting our beautiful city while riding on the Kelowna float. There are many different volunteer events that we participate in, such as the Salvation Army Christmas Kettles, the Poppy Campaign as well as the Maxine DeHarts’ United Way drive thru breakfast."
Brooke Mapstone - 2014/2015 Lady of the Lake
