Last week's meeting was full of great presentations, info about upcoming community events and even a sing-a-long! Here's a quick recap:
- Larry Carruthers shared about the work he and his wife Francine are doing in Kenya with Rotary and the help of Clubs around the world
- Ernie Patterson shared a very interesting and engaging classification talk where he spoke about the evolution of his career from custodial work in a school to becoming the Superintendent, and finally the President of the Alberta Urban Municipal Association where he worked with Premier Ralph Klein
- Christine McWillis from Project Literacy Kelowna gave a presentation to the Club on the work her organization does in the community.
- Project Literacy is recognized as the best literacy organization in the Province
- Literacy issues are now more focused on critical thinking and comprehension, and nearly 50% of the population are affected
- Project Literacy supports immigrants in language development
- Bruce Wilson led the Club in a sing-a-long of the 4 way test
