Happy Sunday Rotarians;

I hope everyone's enjoying a spectacular weekend!  Thank you to all for your engagement in our impromptu Club Business meeting last week.  There are dozens of great suggestions there, and your Board will be considering them this Thursday, 19th, 4pm-6pm at Accelerate Okanagan.  Come see a Board Meeting first hand, consider joining the Board next year, help keep our Club the premier service club in Kelowna!

Several of the suggestions focussed on more communication and sharing of and from our committees - so much of what we accomplish comes from the committee level, we will aspire to provide more updates.  Several requests were regarding ClubRunner and the request for some show-and-tell.  We will schedule that in too, but please consider making time to attend either the Development Weekend in Osoyoos (Oct 27-28) as it's a blast and there will be a ClubRunner session there, or Rotary Leadership Institute Session #1 - November 4 in Kamloops.  Both great options to expand your knowledge of Rotary and all that happens behind the scenes.

This Fall there are many key initiatives: World Polio Day, October 24, join the Ogopogo Club on the overpass to raise awareness; Fill The Bus Food Drive Nov 4&5 at Save-On-Foods, Salvation Army Kettles Dec 16, 18-20 at Costco.  There is also preliminary plans for a community garden cleanup at Central School - stay tuned.  Rotary At Work - Making A Difference!

The Rotary Club of Kelowna is a very engaged and effective Club - please keep it up!  Also, I received greetings from our Past-President Rick visiting our past exchange student Alex in Florence.

See you Tuesday,

James
